What is AcroDance?

Acrobatic dance, or Acro is a beautiful fusion of classic dance techniques and the precision and athleticism or acrobatic elements. Acro is a seamless blend of musicality, emotional expressions, line and extension with acrobatic movements in a dance context.

Why take AcroDance?

Dancers who train through our Acrobatic Arts program have balanced development, are stronger, more flexible and fearless. As a certified studio, implementing this program we see dancers with more skills, who have fewer accidents, and are less likely to develop chronic injuries.

AcroDance is designed to complement traditional dance training and should be taken in conjunction with regular technique classes.

Acro Levels

AcroDance starts at Primary Acro and dancers move up based on skill level

Acro Exams

The Acrobatic Arts examination process aims to motivate dancers through defined, achievable goals across twelve levels that enhance flexibility, strength, balance, limbering, and tumbling. Examiners evaluate dancers against universal standards in a class setting, critiquing and scoring required elements. Grades range from ‘Distinction’ to ‘Retry’, with certificates awarded for level completion and medals for ‘Distinction’ recipients. Students receive report cards highlighting strengths and improvement areas. Completing all levels allows dancers to pursue 'Graduate Study' for Certified Teacher status (AAC2). Examiners also assist teachers post-exams to improve acro programs and technical excellence.

Why Should Students Work Towards Exams?

Having a goal keeps students motivated, focused, and provides something to look forward to!
